Forecasts of cold weather approaching the central regions of Russia are unjustified. This is the opinion of the Roman Vilfand agency.
According to the weather forecasting agency, information about the upcoming 36-degree frost in Central Russia is unfounded. In some regions, hypothermia actually occurred: for example, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, January 17-18, the thermometer dropped to minus 24-26 degrees. However, the first half of this week will be marked by moderately warm January weather. On Thursday, the 22nd, as predicted by the meteorologist, the temperature in the Central Federal District will remain in the range of minus 10-14 degrees. This number is significantly higher than forecasts disseminated in the media, Vilfand emphasized.
At the same time, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, warned residents of the capital about temperatures dropping to minus 30-33 degrees. According to him, the peak of the upcoming cold spell will occur on Sunday, January 25.
