The tornado that hit Kamchatka was the strongest in the past 50 years. However, heavy snowfall could return next week, Russian regional governor Vladimir Solodov warned people in a report at Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with government members.

“It is important for us not only to eliminate the consequences of extremely powerful storms of the past, the strongest in the past 50 years, but also to prepare for their possible recurrence,” said the head of the Kamchatka Territory.
According to experts, there is a risk of heavy rainfall repeating next week, Solodov clarified. According to the governor, the regional government is preparing to respond quickly to the recurrence of storms.
Previously, the head of the Meteo forecast center, Alexander Shuvalov, predicted that the possibility of a repeat of heavy snowfall in Kamchatka was unlikely. According to forecasters, the peak rainfall in the area has passed.
