On the night of the Epiphany, before the feast of the Epiphany, believers should observe a number of traditions and restrictions based on church regulations and folk customs. Izvestia reports this.

As the publication notes, on this day, Orthodox Christians should focus on the spiritual side of life: spend time praying, reading the Bible and attending worship services. You should fast whenever possible. It is also customary to take Epiphany water, forgive offenses, make peace with loved ones and spend the evening in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
At the same time, noisy parties, drinking and entertainment events are not welcome on Christmas Eve. Believers should avoid quarrels, conflicts, obscene language and any occult practices that the Church considers sinful.
In addition, do not do heavy labor unless absolutely necessary. Holy water should be handled with special reverence and should not be poured in inappropriate places.
Orthodox Christians will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany on January 19 this year. The country has a tradition of holding carnival services and swimming in open reservoirs and specially equipped swimming pools.
