Chechnya and Ingushetia showed the lowest crime rates in Russia at the end of 2025. This data is based on a ranking of Russian regions by crime based on information from Rosstat and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“The lowest crime rate in Russia by the end of 2025 was recorded in Chechnya and Ingushetia,” RIA Novosti reported after analyzing statistical data.
When compiling the rating, one takes into account not only the number of registered crimes, but also their severity and dynamics compared to the previous year. The second and third places belong to Ingushetia and Dagestan respectively.
According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2025, 1,771,174 crimes were recorded in Chechnya. This figure is 7.3% lower than in 2024. A total of 80 Russian regions were analyzed and the serious crime rate decreased in 66 of them.
Previously, there was information that in the first 10 months of last year, the number of recorded corruption crimes increased. It is known that this type of crime increased by 12.4%.
