On February 16, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 9 people became victims of ice and snow falling from roofs in Russia in a week, bringing the total number of victims to 24. According to rescue forces, more than 60 incidents involving snow and ice falling from building roofs occurred in 25 areas. For example, in the Perm region, a child broke his leg and fractured his spine due to snow falling from the roof.
The incident occurred on Shkolnaya Street in the city of Chusovaya when a minor walked past the building.
Talking to reporters, a representative of the house maintenance management company said that their experts are not required to completely clear the snow roof. She added that the facility is in a state of emergency.
